September 11, 2009 Good afternoon! I hope you get the chance to do something patriotic, or even just think about our country and the fallen heroes. This has been another exciting week! Have a great Labor Day Weekend! Good morning! We had out first Mass of the year that was planned by grade 5. It was wonderful! Sister Jeannine even stopped by the classroom afterwards to say what a great job they did. The servers, readers, and singers did a perfect job. On Tuesday of this coming week we will have a new student! We look forward to giving her a warm SMSA welcome. We are writing letters to her and we will give them to her on Tuesday. Our first Science test was this week and was successful. In reading we have been learning about the orphan trains. In math we have continued to review, and we multiplied 3 and 4 digit numbers by 2 and 3 digit numbers. We also learned the multiplication properties, which we are currently working on. Our social studies class has had fascinating information about the Native American Woodland tribes. Have a fun, safe weekend.
Good morning! As the weather turns from summer to fall, I suggest that students bring a jacket to school. Also, I would like to remind you that plain navy sweatshirts may be worn in the classroom since we made the converstion from the St. Augustine and St. Mary uniforms to the SMSA uniforms. Until Mrs. Wiz returns, PE may or may not be outside. Please dress for the weather. It's better to have a jacket and not need it than need one and not have it. Have a great day!
1st Week The first week is coming to a close already. We have had our first set of spelling words and have read some great stories. We are also hard at work on Personal Narrative writing. We have learned about classifying organisms in Science. Social Studies is all about our nation. I love the timelines the students have created. We've gotten a good review in on our subjects and look forward learning more! Tomorrow is our first spelling test.
It's almost time! Good afternoon! School begins soon and I can't wait to see you. Together, we can make this year the best.
